I take pictures.

Johari Kazura, 2012

I like taking pictures of people and make them swing like a 竹トンボ。

You have to google that because it will make sense.

Joshua Goh, 2012

I get to know many people through taking pictures.
Every subject is a new beginning.

Dancers have proper body muscle because they have to think.
Routines and motions are very hard to trace while creating beauty.

Toby, 2012

These portraits of 3 men show how different they are when they perform.
"They never create the same trails" Yana, one of the female dancer, told me.

"Sometimes, you can really tell what they are thinking."

We Got Served

My firm ( just got hobagged in the a.
Our new-admin-girl left suddenly and our schedule is f'd.

Now we need a New-new-admin-girl.
It sounds like Miu Miu campaign girl but it's not like that.

Anyways, working in a good office environment is very fun.

However, it is a very unique and distinct category. A chic Paris architecture firm in Singapore.
Every day at sunset time, horney-birds sing their song.

"What you call those? Those horney-sounding birds?"

"I dunno lah. Just call it ho'ney-birds lah."

This is Singapore.

New-new-admin-girl wanted....

Very cool.

Yana, 2012

Being a part-time photographer, I have no time to shoot like Rambo.

I really do enjoy both photography and architecture.
The only problem of architecture is it being always FULL TIME.

Problem of doing both at the same time is photography is FULL POWER all the time.

Sometimes, I go to work on monday thinking "what did I do here 3 days ago...?"

It is like being a fish living on land sometimes, enjoying feet somehow. Lizards?

I need an assistant.

Wah lah way,

Naomi Sundberg, 2011

Her eyes are so dashing.
Super cool.

She is half-Swedish half Japanese but all this time, she was very Japanesey half American.

Whatever that means.

I've contacted a publisher/gallery owner to present my art photography.
It is so daring I cannot show it anywhere in public because I'm shy, but somehow those things sell.
Interesting world.

Anyways, I keep shooting.

I like to shoot girls because it is delighting.

Edit Choice

1 out of 400

Yana, 2012

I've been doing the edit for this shoot.
Total 1100 shots, which is not that much.

Back in the days, I had to choose 1 out of 400. If the story required 5 shots, thats looking at 2000 images. Sometimes, a photographer shoots 400 and there would be only 3 to choose. Sometimes 20. But sometimes, its just way too much shooting.

Editing is important because you are choosing the next few shots to work +8 hours per image on that.

It is like choosing a girl to stick to for a while.

Got lights?

Joshua Goh, 2012

Josh was living in an abandoned Police Coast Guard HQ.

He creates a matrix with lights.

The Ring
Yana, 2012

She was like a butterfly hopping around.
Ring went up and down, across her arm.

Rowing On A Butter

The Old Police Coast Guard HQ

Life is like a tumbling road.
Where am I going? Mommy says "I dunno."

Sometimes, I think these people has found their way.

It was quite beautiful to watch them dance.

Light Test

Singapore, 2011

Since my gears are... ghetto, I have very limited light currently.
It is not like New York, here in Singapore, where I can rent Profoto gears any day, every day, for cheap.

Got Plans?
Andriano and Nuri, 2011

Everyone's got a "Plan", so to speak.

My friend Chris Goodney is losing his vision. He was claimed Bloomberg Newswire's best photographer by their chief editor, and his vision goes blind.

Was that in his plan? I swear not.

Before he started photography his life-time girl got crushed by a car. And just like that, he started photography and just like that, his life plan on a girl went somewhere.

What about me?
I couldn't graduate from high-school. I snuck into college, and I got out of Parsons with honors. That was never in my plan. I was studying architecture and apprenticing under a photographer I met at Chelsea's starbucks, and my first job was sweeping floors and holding a chord... so the damn photographer wouldn't trip over.

Mr. Steve Jobs even said "you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards."

I truly believe in that.

I don't have no Rand on my back or Atlus being shrugged. All I do and believe is in making things better for myself and people around me.

But that kind'a sounds like a plan.

What's New?

Andriano, 2011

At this point, everyone is waiting for aliens to come.
I'm neutral.

Around 3AM last night, a friend texted me saying he's about to change location.
At 12 noon, he texted me he was still awake listening to music, at a different location.

Party goers are always fun.
I wonder if aliens partay too.
