The Mayans are coming

Happy 28th of October, in about few moments.
It is our last day in the so-called Mayan calendar.

DJ Cutbird and MC B O

Dj Cutbird and MC B O, New York, 2011

What a deal.

I said to him "I'd shoot for you if you spin for me."

Dj Cutbird, Hideki, is my friend from while back.

I was living in a dusty basement in Queens, Manhattan.
I slept where things crawled and shit grew.

Hideki, a Dj asked me if I can construct a sound proof wall, and I gave him a 3-ply structure that did no need of screwing. The door had to be attached and be able to move and all. All while, when and if they move out, its gotta snap come out without no ease.

The wall and the door has been in perfect condition for the past 3 years.

"I do photography these days, and I have a shoot."
I asked him if he can spin for my girl who wasn't ready yet.

So he gave me a deal.
"Can you come shoot us and I can spin for you? That wall has been intact ever since."

I said to him "I'd shoot for you if you spin for me."

Digging

I've excavated this while listening to constructive Jeff Buckley.

He is so constructive.

I've excavated this galaxy I've got to churn.

This is my friend Dj Cutbrid and MC B O.

They spun for my shoot :).

Singapore

Wow lah,

Apartment, 2011

I look out the window from my temporary apartment every day to look Singapore.

Singapore.

This place is unimaginable.

It is already the 26th.

Kids no run.

I gotta start

"Mommy, where am I going?"
I say, "I don't know, where are you going?"

The little girl yelps.

"Boy, I don't know where I'm going!"

The little boy follows.

NEW YORK, 2011

Of course, I had my head-phones on, so none of these are real.

Sunday, October 23, 2011

"oh, like you are going to listen to me."
He spoke as I pulled out my head-phones. Drunk and angry, a man sat next to me.
And so it goes, a life with new friends.

Ramone asked me "what is the purpose in Life?"

I answered "I don't know, like, we have purposes in life?"

He was piss drunk and so was his friend Leo perhaps.
Ramone was so drunk he cleared the entire car on the NY subway.

A drunk man and a man who sleeps on couch talked about many things like happiness and stuff like that.
"Do you know what is love?"
"I don't know"
"Have you ever been, in love?"
"I don't know"
He shook my hand.
"There is nothing we can talk, about love."
I shook his hand back with delight,
"Yes!"

How did we get there?
"Are you happy?"
That was his first question.

I did not know so I answered "I guess, I don't know"
He called out my lie and said,
"That is the saddest lie on earth I've ever heard."

Aiyo

We say "aiyo lah" when we encounter some shit that's aiyo.

"Aiyoo, brudda', why you like that??"

A common Singlish here in Singapore.

We Designers

I am a designer at job.

Let me analyze and tell you a secret.

These days I hear "we need more jobs, we need more jobs" on financial whatevers.

whatever.

We are the posh-poop suckers on planet Earth.

Hail, hail to the elephant.

As we are tiny winged suckers, we see them as giant corporations.

California, 2011

My band should be named "The Posh-Poop Suckers".

Hi Sara :)

So,

I talk a lot about the city and the sex industry.
All only because the society tries to hide them.
Why hide? They are humans too.
Children, see them.
Beware, they are just your own reflection.

Witold and Spencer, 2011

This is the society we run.
This is where we hold responsibilities.
Fathers, forget them not.
If not for money, what for?

POOLSIDE, 2011

Mothers, be sure.
Be sure of your children, and let them be.
Brothers, sisters.
If we be whores, we are already whores to our society.

I like meaningless image

A good friend, Aaron tells me.
“The best Thai food in Singapore is from the Orchard Tower.”
When you go to Singapore next time, visit the Orchard Tower on Orchard Road.

Singapore, 2011

Four-stories-of-whores.
A very good place to find electronics and authentic thai cuisine.
Careful though, gentlemens.

Spencer and Witold, 2011

They may not be girls

Posts

Today, I take you to the back-doors of Doi Suthep.
Friends, never disturb.

There are monks living there.

ドイ・スーテップ寺院の裏口へと案内します。
僧侶達が今も住んでいるので迷惑かけちゃダメですよ。

CHIANGMAI, 2011

You can't walk.
歩いて行くことはできません。

You walk up.
歩きます。

You may see an awkward Buddha facing 20 degrees off to the side and slightly up.
焦点の外れた仏様もいます。

Spencer Chen, 2011

I wonder if we can relate through series of image.
Like you and me, Doi Suthep, a temple in Thailand.

I like Hindi music

I happen to be a very big fan of Aishwarya Rai, but who's NOT?

This is great, this picture from Thailand.

"EACH ONE TEACH ONE!"

These words need to be kept.

Retouch

Here, I show you some dirty secrets.

This is how it looks AS SHOT.

Top: after initial coloration
Middle: changing colors of specific areas
Bottom: detailing

Final Image

Photon-graphic.
See, I'm painting in color.

Sharing and Giving

You Give What They Want

Alexandre used to tell me.
"Sharing is caring."

PARIMA SUKOSI, 2011

Let’s think what humans are capable of.
Fire
This is very important as the topic surpasses spirituality and unites all religion under science. Actually, like life and death meeting at the same point, Science, Art and Religion faces the same direction.
Fire is entropy
Time is also entropy.

Fire and combustion is an acceleration of time, “entropy”.
It is a very selfish concept.

What is nature capable of?
Sharing.

"Everybody should care about everybody" - Warhol

All that's worth

Sometimes I say to myself.
“Is this all worth it?”

Naomi with her smile, 2011

I learn the system of our world every day. Nothing new.
The unfair nature of mankind. In this chaos, everything is fair
We all die, age, disease and get hurt out-of-nowhere sometimes.
With this concept in mind, we are all equal
Even those squirrels lurking at Madison Sq. Park are one of us.

Till I see you again

Last days of NY

New York City is a one-heck of a ride.
The empire-state-city runs on madness and blind-dating money.

It is easy to lose yourself in this rat race and turn into someone else.
Has it been any different since Midnight Cowboy?
It's hard to say as I often see my mates hustlin' down the city.

NAOMI SUNDBERG, 2011

Things are also slightly rough and in-your-face.
Taxi honks, every men yells and the industry can run you over one day.

Sex-slave-auctions may have disappeared from the Meat Packing District, but it has found new homes ran by the same, caters to the same.
Name changes and business too. But it all exists, as we've never changed.

I still click my shutter thinking it would all be changed.
