How to find a shoot

Having a crew is golden.

My make-up was hesitant on working on dark skin, as I've made him prepare for a half Japanese-Swedish mix.

"Can you do black skin?" I asked. 

Without waiting his answer, I said "look at that kid."

Jahmal was rocking. 

His style was unbeatable. Lips, unspeakable. 

I laid him on some greens. He smiled slightly and looked into the camera. 

This was my pick-up line.

"So, I just happened to have a shoot just now, and I just happen to have a really good make-up right now with me. And I just happened to have some time. Can I put you some make-up and get some shots?"

My mother used to ask me that a lot.

There's a thing called a 'thang' that just goes by on its own. 

Each person has this, and it is called a 'thang'. 

"So let it be and do your thang."

WHAT IS PHOTO?

Graphing with photon, is photography. 

It sounds like laser-blasts and techno music but hear me. 

If light is all source of life, photography is simply picturing life. 

Photography, like architecture, is celebration of life. 

I asked that question to my professor one day. 

It was my third year at Parsons, the school for wanderers and lost souls. 

"Excuse me." I stopped my teacher Michael Morris.

So that was it. He answered me after his eyes opened wide-wide. Smiles wide too. 

"Celebration of Life."

When I went to Nice

SEAFOOD IS GOOD IN NICE

When I was in Nice, I encountered two things. 

Beautiful ocean and beautiful fish. 

The salmon placed on my plate that early noon will never be forgotten.

Later that day, I went to Eze. Another beautiful city on a cliff. 

I love France for that reason. Everywhere you go is fucking beautiful.

One day, a boy was walking with his mom. And she was rockin'. 

Everywhere you go, there is fashion. 

I had my best-macaron-out-of-nowhere here. 

Even in New York, mommies can't walk like that.

Oh busy week

I shot this a while ago. 

I was studying architecture at Parsons School of Design back then. 

I forgot the designer's name but I remember telling him,

"Run like you're, 'Fuck Yeah!'"

He runs hard. 

I was young back then.

Why am I in NY?

I get this question a lot.

I have to say destiny guided me since 3.11.

I was sm=king as usual in Thailand's jungle one day.
As the beach nursed my beaten soul from my former French boss, another beach washed my people away up north.

I said to myself.

"Wah lau, it's like the start of the end of the world."

I am sure I wasn't alone.

September hit me and it was around the start of the 6th day of the 9th cycle in the Mayan calendar. 

As night turned into day, consequences start to hit me hard. 

I said to myself again.

"Wah lau, this calendar really works! Rock!"

Within few days, I held a ticket in my hand with prosperity. So I took advantage of my consequences, like, having a girl to shoot, making stupid mistakes and accidentally extending my stay from 4 days to 1 month, having many couches to sleep on, and some people to meet. 

Wah lau..... drifting lah. 

But I always say to myself. 

There seems to be many reasons as hundreds, though there is only one true reason for myself. 

Hence, I say to myself. 

"why care?"

I said to myself "I'd paint all over your body" but that didn't come out.

On Vegas,

I went to Vegas one day and saw this magnificent light coming through the window.

I said to myself.

"I need a girl."

Within 2 nights of eclectic pleasuries, I found a girl and a boy to stand to cast shadow for my lens.
